Executive Conference 2019
Join us October 29-30 in New Orleans for the 2019 SPESA Executive Conference and learn how the sewn products industry is becoming Better, Faster, and Closer.
This year’s conference will feature two keynote speakers from opposite ends of the political spectrum: Acting Administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration Chris Pilkerton and political commentator and icon James Carville.
The conference will also include interactive sessions with the audience on topics such as workforce development and supply chain disruption and three panels of industry experts discussing current and future manufacturing trends in key geographic regions:
- Reshoring, Near-shoring, and What it Means to be “Made in U.S.A.” – Today’s consumers want customization, made-to-order products, and a good story. Speakers on this panel will discuss whether or not reshoring is right for your company and how to make it work. Speakers include: Lloyd Wood, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Textiles, Consumer Goods, and Materials, U.S. Department of Commerce International Trade Administration; Kim Glas, President & CEO, National Council of Textile Organizations (NCTO)
- Sewn Products Equipment and Suppliers of the Americas – That’s what SPESA is all about, and this panel is all about the opportunities and challenges that come with manufacturing sewn products in North, Central, and South America. Speakers include: Carlos Botero, President, INEXMODA; Gary Simmons, Director, Intradeco
- Mitigating Your China Exposure – Whether it’s high labor costs, tariff wars, or other concerns, mass production in China is becoming an increasingly challenging option for many manufacturers and suppliers. Learn how other companies are dealing with this issue and explore alternative strategies for your business. Speakers include: Nicole Bivens Collinson, President, Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg, P.A.; Steve Lamar, Executive Vice President, American Apparel & Footwear Association (AAFA)
Each panel will provide ample opportunity for you to ask questions and gain the information you need on the topics most important to you.
Register now before space runs out! And don't forget to book your hotel room at the beautiful, newly-renovated JW Marriott New Orleans to take in the fun (but not the noise) of the French Quarter. A discounted rate of $208 will be available until October 6 or until rooms sell out. Reserve your room here.
This event is open to SPESA members, their customers, and anyone interested in learning more about the future of the sewn products industry.
