A Message from SPESA on COVID-19

To Our Members,
As a valued member of the SPESA family, we are thankful for the trust you and your company have bestowed upon us to support your business. That is a responsibility we don’t take lightly.
As with the rest of the world, we are facing an unprecedented challenge. The spread of COVID-19 has impacted our industry, our business, and our day-to-day lives. We are quickly learning a hard lesson about adaptability and prioritization and it hasn’t been easy. But at the end of the day, we know our priority is you. And the decisions being made are about protecting your health and wellbeing.
Below are a few updates about SPESA’s upcoming events. We wanted to ensure you have all the information we have at this time.

Like many of you, our workday dynamic is shifting and we will likely be utilizing home offices more frequently to adopt to the new social distancing norms. Texprocess Americas 2020 has been postponed to October 1-3. [updated 3/30/20]
Earlier in March, we announced postponement to December 15-17. However, after listening to the concerns of exhibitors and communicating tirelessly with the Georgia World Congress Center, the Texprocess Americas team was able to reschedule for October.
[Original message: As you learned last Friday, the 2020 Texprocess Americas show has been postponed to December 15-17, 2020. It was a tough call, but we’re confident it was the right one. We understand that these dates present new challenges with the holiday season and year-end processes, however these are the only dates available for postponement and we believe moving the event is a much better option than cancelling altogether. And hey, it’s a great excuse to get together during the holidays!]
This isn’t easy though, and we get that. We’re working closely with Messe Frankfurt to support our members who are exhibiting or registered to attend. Messe Frankfurt is working through the next steps and we will relay updates as we have them regarding exhibit space, service orders, hotel reservations, etc.
We fully intend to still host our SPESA Opening Night Reception on day one of the show. We are working out the details now. For those who have already registered, your registration will be transferred to the new date [October 1]. If you are no longer able to attend, we will issue a refund of your full registration amount. Advancements in Manufacturing Technologies Conference
Originally slated for April 7 in Detroit, the Advancements in Manufacturing Technologies Conference is postponed indefinitely. Speakers and attendees have been informed and are being offered the opportunity to request a full refund or transfer their tickets to the future date. As soon as we have more information on a rescheduled date, we will let you know.
We are extremely disappointed to have to postpone — Detroit is an exciting market for us and the industry as a whole — but, again, we think it was the right choice. Nothing is more important than the wellbeing of our members and attendees. We look forward to getting to Detroit very soon.
2020 Executive Conference
As of now, we are making no contingency plans for the 2020 Executive Conference in October. If anything changes, however, you’ll be the first to know.
The bottom line is we’re here for you. We will continue to keep you apprised of any additional updates on an ongoing basis. And we greatly appreciate your patience and understanding.
