Happy Holidays from SPESA!
A message from SPESA to our wonderful members:
Dear SPESA Members,
Well, we made it a year. Our team officially took over management of SPESA in January of this year and it has been one of the greatest years yet for all of us.
That is in large part thanks to you – the best members an association could want.
Let’s talk numbers. In 2019, we moved offices (twice), elected two new SPESA Board members, hosted four events, gained eight new SPESA members, and traveled to Colombia, Mexico, China, and Germany (twice) – plus at least a dozen U.S. cities.
The number 90 seems to be our sweet spot though. In February, we hosted 90 attendees at the Advancements in Manufacturing Technologies Conference in Raleigh and, two months ago, 90 SPESA members, manufacturers, government representatives, and industry experts joined us in New Orleans for the 2019 SPESA Executive Conference. We’re very proud of both events and look forward to leading both next year.
We also focused on building our online presence in 2019. We revamped the SPESA website, re-introduced “SPESA Speaks” as a blog, regularly shared the accomplishments of SPESA members on social media, and highlighted the unique capabilities of a different member each month in our Monday Member Spotlight. We will continue to build on each of these initiatives.
Of course, we have had our challenges as well. We have had to learn a lot along the way, and I’m sure there is much more we still need to learn. We look forward to learning, growing, and improving with you in 2020.
I want to thank the SPESA Board of Directors, and especially our exceptional Chairwoman Nina McCormack, for their guidance and leadership over the past year. And thank you to each and every SPESA member for your support and dedication to the sewn products industry. It is a wonderful thing to be able to work in an industry you love with people who mean so much to you.
Happy Holidays from all of us at SPESA!
