SPESA Members Showcase at Colombiatex 2020
SPESA attended the annual Colombiatex de las Américas January 21-23 in Medellin, Colombia. The trade show attracted 546 exhibitors and more than 13,000 attendees from 33 countries interested in the Latin American fashion and sewn products industries. When asked about his continued presence at Colombiatex, Justin Hershoran, Director of Shop Floor at Exenta, stated: “It’s dynamic; it’s exciting. It’s an industry-leading show for the Americas. If you’re going do business in Central and South America, the show is a must.”
As is its tradition, SPESA utilized its 2020 Colombiatex booth to highlight its members. FKgroup and Methods workshop presented demonstrations of their products and met with customers in person.
- FKgroup is an Italian company focused on analysis, planning, and automation for the cutting room.
- Methods Workshop is a leading developer and provider of engineering and costing software solutions for the global fashion and sewn products industries.
Advanced Distribution Technologies, Inc.; Henderson Sewing Machine Co.; Frontier Distributors; and Phillocraft also participated in the SPESA booth this year, sending materials and videos showcasing their products, services, and solutions. Several other SPESA members attended the show exhibiting in their own booths or in conjunction with their South American distributors.
“Colombiatex has always been a very busy and effective show for Methods Workshop and our agent Felipe Gomez,” said SPESA Board member John Stern. “Utilizing the SPESA booth space provides excellent outreach for members,” he continued.
Also during this year’s show, Colombiatex producer Inexmoda announced a new trade show to be held in Medellin in conjunction with Messe Frankfurt – SPESA’s partner for the Texprocess Americas show in Atlanta. The new show, Heimtextil Colombia, will launch April 27-29, 2021, and showcase finished home goods.
